Food Waste App, 2026
StillGood
My own app that helps families waste less food. It scans your groceries, tracks every expiry date and suggests what to cook before anything goes off.

How It Works
1
Scan the Shop
Point the camera at a product, a barcode, a receipt or the whole haul at once, and Google Gemini fills in the details.
- One item, a whole benchful or a receipt
- Name, category and storage spot filled in
- Nothing is saved until you have checked it

2
Watch the Dates
Everything in the pantry counts down, so the food that needs using first is always at the top.
- Days left on every item
- Fridge, freezer, counter and cellar filters
- Expiring, expired and consumed totals

3
Cook What's Closest
Recipes are ranked by how many of your expiring items they use, and anything you're missing goes on the shopping list.
- Meals that rescue the most food come first
- What you have and what's missing, before you start
- Recipe Studio builds a recipe from ingredients you pick

4
Get Told in Time
Expiry alerts and recipe nudges arrive at the times you choose, with a monthly summary of what stayed out of the bin.
- Alerts on your own schedule
- Recipe nudges for food close to expiry
- Every alert kept in an inbox in the app
One App, Three Tiers
Every tier is the same app. Upgrading raises the limits and, on Family, adds a shared household.

Built by Me, with an AI Pair Programmer
I designed and developed the mobile app, the backend server and the website all by myself. I used Claude Code, an AI coding assistant, to work faster: I decided how everything should work and reviewed every piece of code it wrote before using it.
